With a view to making it easier to give a driver's compartment a high position in a bus chassis (1), a driver's compartment module (3) is fastened to the upper side of a steering gear module (13) which in its turn forms part of a front wheel module (2). Making the steering gear module (13) form part of the front wheel module (2) means that the front wheel module (2) may be designed complete with regard to steering geometry and the like, irrespective of the positioning of the driver's compartment module (3). The same front wheel module (2) may also be used for a chassis with a low-positioned driver's compartment, which makes it easier to manufacture several different types of bus with substantially the same components. |
