Process for raising the yield of turpentine and simultaneously neutralizing the foul-smelling and poisonous gases in the continuous sulphate cooking of cellulose materials. The gases liberated during the production of pulp, which contain turpentine and foul- smelling and poisonous gases, are used to heat the cellulose material before digesting and cooking the material. This ensures that the turpentine is absorbed by the cellulose material, while the foul-smelling and poisonous gases are collected and removed for destruction. <IMAGE> |
