PURPOSE:To discriminate a paper money by using its characteristic partial pattern. CONSTITUTION:A scanner section 1 reads an original picture (paper money). The read picture information is fed to a color information conversion processing section 2 and a paper money discrimination processing section 3. The paper money discrimination processing section 3 identifies whether or not the original indicates a pattern of a paper money or securities whose copy is inhibited. In the case of the paper money or the like, a print inhibit signal is fed to a print section 4 to stop printing or to print out a different pattern from the inputted pattern. Whether or not the original pattern indicates the bank note pattern is discriminated for its identity based on plural partial patterns and their relative relation of positions. |
