PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of a component by continuing the disabling state stopping the image forming action for a prescribed period when an abnormality occurs on a means controlling the component implementing the image forming action. CONSTITUTION:A copying machine 10 is provided with a microcomputer 60 and its monitor section 62, a ROM 76 storing various programs and a RAM 78 having data written data are connected to the CPU 64 of the microcomputer 60, and a Twd counter 78a counting the prescribed time and a flag region 78b are allocated in the RAM 78. The monitor section 62 is provided with a watched timer receiving the signal WD indicating that the microcomputer 60 has no abnormality, and it intermittently outputs the reset signal when no signal WD is inputted. When an abnormality occurs on the microcomputer 60, the reset signal is outputted from the monitor section 62, the Twd counter 78a in the RAM 78 is cleared, the flag in the flag region 78b is reset, and the copying action is prohibited. |
