PURPOSE:To provide an optical filter control system and the optical communications system using the constitution in which the necessity of multiplexing a channel identification signal on a transmission signal is eliminated and the need for installation of an optical frequency reference is eliminated for the receiver. CONSTITUTION:An optical filter control system id provided to a receiver either the optical FDM communication system stabilizing an optical frequency of a light source of a transmitter in an optical frequency reference through optical frequency modulation or the optical transmission system in which a transmission signal of each channel from the light source of a communication equipment is applied to modulation proper to the channel. A modulation signal detection circuit 1-6 is provided for the control system of the optical filter 1-1 in the receiver to monitor a modulation signal such as an optical frequency of the light source included in the received signal at the time of optical frequency sweeping by the optical filter 1-1. After the modulation signal of the received channel is detected, the sweeping of the optical filter 1-1 is stopped to track the optical frequency of the optical filter 1-1 to the optical frequency of the reception channel. |
