PURPOSE:To easily make a color display of high quality with good white and black level reproducibility on the electrooptic device which compensates coloration in STN mode by an optical isotropic body by forming a tricolored color reflecting plate which transmits principally lights of R, G, and B on a substrate, and controlling the position of the maximum reflection factor wavelength of the color reflecting plate and the spectral reflection factor ratio of the respective colors at the maximum reflection factor wavelength. CONSTITUTION:The tricolor color reflecting plate which reflects principally the lights of R, G, and B is formed on the substrate 5; and the maximum reflection factor wavelength of G is set to 530-570-nm, the maximum reflection factor wavelength of B is set to <=480nm, and the ratio of the maximum reflection factor wavelength of G and B and the spectral reflection factor of R at 620nm is set to <=1.8. Consequently, the ratio of the spectral reflection factors at the maximum reflection factor wavelength is large for R, small for B, and an intermediate value for G. |
