As an improvement to a flow-control valve for water fittings with a valve spindle rotatably mounted in the valve housing and connected to the valve-closing member, a rotary knob being arranged for the purpose of valve actuation on the end of the valve spindle, which projects from the valve housing, the proposal is that a stop housing should be provided in a manner fixed relative to the valve housing, this stop housing having arranged in it in the region of its inner wall a rotational stop which can be released by the user by radial deflection, and that the rotary knob should be connected to the rotational stop by means of a stop nose, such that the rotary opening movement of the rotary knob is limited by the rotational stop when the latter is in its undeflected position.
