ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE IMAGE DEVELOPER AND MULTICOLOR IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PURPOSE:To provide the electrostatic charge image developer which hardly generates staining of background parts in an initial period or even after copying of many sheets when the developer is left standing at a high temp. and high humidity and the multicolor image forming method adopting a one-pass multicolor developing system forming excellent image quality by using the color developer. CONSTITUTION:This electrostatic charge developer contains a magnetic powder dispersion type carrier formed by dispersing magnetic powder into a binder resin and a metallic phthalocyanine pigment as a coloring agent and contains the compd. expressed by the formula as a charge control agent. The developer is formed by mixing such carrier and a toner formed by sticking inorg. oxide particulates to the particle surfaces. In the formula, R1 to R4 respectively denote 1 to 18C alkyl group or benzyl group; X<-> denotes CH2CO4 (1/2)SO4<-2>, etc. The electrostatic charge image developer is suitable for use in the multicolor image forming method having a stage for forming a latent image on a latent image holding body and a stage for developing the latent image by using the developer. The developer is used for at least second and subsequent developing devices.
