Digital pulse generator for digital synthesis

A time frame (quantised) of the time base that can be controlled is derived in order to produce a large ratio of the time interval between the output pulse and the reference time. This interval is then divided into a given number of sections (digital "slivers") representing fractions between two quanta and giving modified ratios. After this, there are inserted a given number of smaller sections (analog "vernier lengths") representing fractions between two "slivers" for setting more finely modified ratios, more accurate ratios between the output pulse and the reference time.
