[Class 78 (i)] In machines for transferring goods, such as sweetmeats, to or from plaques of the kind in which the plaques are drawn over an edge to and from a horizontal position, air pressure is used to force the plaques into close contact with the surface or surfaces adjacent the edge over which they are bent. The plaques are secured at one edge to trays as described in Specification 500,970, and pass over a suction head 37, 38 mounted on a pivoted member 10 which is movable transversely and longitudinally of the conveyer and is made in two pieces. Each part of the member 10 has a trunnion 13 provided with ports 17 which is seated in a bearing 14 formed in a suction box 15. Each part has a pivot pin 23, Fig. 2 mounted in a bearing 24. A tapered end-piece 18 on each part is provided with an arm 19 which is connected by a link 20 to an arm 21 secured to a rock shaft 22. Another arm 26 on the rock shaft is connected by a link 27 to an arm 28 fast on a shaft 29. This shaft carries also an arm 30, to the free end of which a swivel element 31 is pivoted. Bolts 32 connect the swivel to the end piece 18. An arm 35 fast on the shaft 22 carries a roller 34 which is in the.path of pins carried by the conveyer trays. When a pin strikes the roller, the shaft 22 is rocked, and the suction head is given the desired movements.
