ATM NETWORK AND SERVICING METHOD THEREFOR

PURPOSE: To enable a supervisor and other service offerers to offer the services to various devices of an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) network by preparing a service path having plural service channels which connect the supervisor to the exchanges and multiplexes plural services at plural ports. CONSTITUTION: An ATM network has the exchanges 213, 223, 233 and 243 which can be connected to the center service offerers 201 and 202 via the virtual service paths. The communication is possible between the exchanges 213 to 243 and the offerers 201 and 202 via the virtual communication channels contained in the virtual service paths for the service requests, the addition of services and other control information given to the network. Furthermore, the effective communication is attained for the service requests and their permission without setting any new communication path between every exchange and service offerer in regard to each request. The ATM network can be managed by the offerers 201 and 202 as a logical star network.
