PURPOSE:To remove condition branching processing which is required in each generation of one picture element in convensional straight line plotting algorithm at the time of plotting a straight line and to improve a processing speed. CONSTITUTION:In the case of plotting a straight line in a window, the position of a picture element for starting the plotting is found out (51). Then a straight line obtained by moving a straight line to be plotted by 0.5 in parallel with a prescribed direction is supposed and the position of a picture element for starting the plotting the straight line and the inclination of the straight line are found out by decimals and errors are rounded up (52). Information relating to the number of picture elements to be plotted is set up (53) to start plotting. At the time of plotting, figures below the decimal point of the position of each picture element found as a decimal are omitted (54). The picture element of the position is plotted (55), the position of a picture element to be plotted next is found out as a decimal based upon the inclination of the straight line (56, 57). Whether plotting of picture elements to be plotted has been completed or not is judged (58), and when the plotting has not been completed yet, operation is returned to the step 54. |
