PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the cycle life of a battery, by using a minute glass fiber and a negative electrode plate not formed yet, to form an electrode group, housing the electrode group in a battery jar, pouring an electrolyte solution to which SiO2 is added, and then, carrying out the formation in battery jar. CONSTITUTION:To a minute glass fiber and an active material, a negative electrode plate not formed yet, to which carbon whyskers are added is fused to form an electrode plate group. Then, after the electrode plate group is housed in a battery jar, an electrolyte to which SiO2 is added is poured, and a formation in battery jar is processed. In this case, by adding the carbon whyskers in the active material, the electric conductivity is increased, and the formation is promoted easily. And by adding the SiO2 to the electrolyte solution, the deterioration of the cycle life can be prevented, but the electric conductivity is reduced. That is the reason why the carbon whyskers are added. |
