PURPOSE:To improve productivity by inexpensively forming the color filter which can more efficiently utilize a back light than heretofore relating to the color type liquid crystal display plate. CONSTITUTION:This method for formation of the color filter for the liquid crystal display plate consists in arranging a liquid crystal plate having transparent electrodes and an oriented film on the other surface of a glass substrate 161 attached with a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal plate having a black mask 162, color filters consisting of color pixels of three colors, transparent electrodes and an oriented film on the other surface of the glass substrate 161 having the polarizing plate while maintaining a required gap, then sealing a liquid crystalline body into the gap. A photosensitive pigment dispersion type coloring resin of the color corresponding to the color pixels and a photosensitive transparent resin are successively laminated to cover the entire surface of the black mask 162 of the glass substrate 161 formed with the black mask 162 and simultaneously patterning these resins by both of exposing and developing techniques using masking. The color pixels 165a to 165c coated with a top coat are formed in the prescribed opening windows of the black mask 162. The color filter is formed by applying the same stages respectively to the other two colors. |
