Use of a component (M) which is a compound of the formula <IMAGE> where E is an aromatic bivalent radical, X1 is a hydroxyl group or a primary amino group, and Y1 is a hydroxyl group or a primary amino group, and where the amino group attached to the -SO2-attached radical A is optionally acylated, or a mixture of compounds of the formula (I> as coupling component and/or - in the non-acylated form - as diazo component for preparing azo dyes and the novel dyes, their preparation and use and the novel intermediates.
