PURPOSE:To speed a retrieval and to eliminate the limit of character string length to be collated by collating the length more than data string length registered in the entry of a directionary. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with an input register 1 for n characters and an output register 2 for m characters. A dictionary storage means is constructed by a hash circuit 3, dictionay registration/redadout circuit 4, dictionary 5. An input buffer means is constructed by an input buffer registration/ reading circuit 6 and an input buffer 7. Further, the device is provided with a comparison circuit 8, edition circuit 9, operation decision logic 10, differential circuit 11, 1-bit flag register 12, counter 13, address register 14 pointing the entry in the dictionary, OR circuit 15, address register 16 pointing the writing address in the input buffer, and adder 17 adding '1'. In collating the data string, the input data and the data string in the dictionary 5 are collated. The collation of the data string longer than the data string registered in the dictionary 5 is performed by comparing the data pointed by the pointer in the entry. |
