PURPOSE:To allow accurate stopping of a track car at a target position by single inching operation by continuing very low speed traveling until a point in front of a target is detected and then applying final brake. CONSTITUTION:When a track car 1 is traveling in low speed band, the distance required for the track car 1 to stop after actuation of stop operation is determined. Brake operation is started at a moment when the distance thus determined substantially matches the distance up to a target stop position thus temporarily stop the track car 1 in the vicinity of the target stop position. The track car 1 is then accelerated while being braked such that the traveling speed at a moment when the track car 1 traveled from the temporary stop position to the target stop position does not exceed an instant stop speed. The track car 1 is finally braked upon detection of a point 6 being set immediately in front of the target stop position. This method allows accurate stopping of the track car 1 at a target position by single inching operation. |
