PURPOSE:To provide an automatic focusing camera capable of performing accurate predicted driving even at low luminance. CONSTITUTION:A 1st sensor 9 and a 2nd sensor 10 whose detecting sensitivity of an object image is higher than the 1st sensor 9 are juxtaposed by a photodetector 8 receiving the object image guided from a focus detection optical system 7. Every time the signal of the object image is outputted from the photodetector 8, the defocusing amount of the object image is calculated by a focus detection arithmetic means 12 based on the signal. The moving speed of the object image surface is calculated based on the defocusing amount of previous time and this time and the interval of the calculated time. By discriminating that the object moves when the moving speed is equal to or above a specified value, output from the 2nd sensor 10 is selected by a control means 11 as output from the photodetector 8. |
