Middle-ear prosthesis

The invention provides a middle-ear prosthesis for implantation in the auditory meatus AM of a patient. An integral transmission part (10) possesses a housing (12) which is sealed by outer and inner membranes (18, 28) and which is pushed onto an inner anchorage support (30), is inserted in plain fit together with the latter into the niche (NO) of the oval window and is fastened in the external auditory meatus (AM) with an anchorage (40). A transmission member (20) fastened on both membranes (18, 28) pretensions the latter. The housing (12) is partially conical and has an external collar (24) as a seat for a fit-in ring (33) which is connected to a fixation part (32) via a fold (35) for angular adjustment. The flexible anchorages (30, 40) possess perforated tongues (36) and flaps (48) for fastening, e.g. with screws (31). A small amount of endogenous grease (M) of the patient fills the space between the oval window (OW) and the inner membrane (28). Finally, the prosthesis is embedded in a solid filler composition (DF) and the external structural components are epithelialised. <IMAGE>
