In a condenser microphone having two transducers, a variation of the directional pattern is created by superimposing the directional characteristics of the two transducers. In order to improve the signal quality, it is proposed to operate the two transducers in accordance with the radio-frequency method and to combine the radio-frequency signals, which are amplitude-modulated by the transducers, by series connection in mutually different ratios before demodulation.
