Engine idling speed control module

A device for adjusting the engine idling speed to a set value calculates a set engine idling speed appropriate to engine operating conditions and a model engine speed on the basis of the set engine idling speed calculated. The calculated set-model engine speed is used in order to calculate a model engine output torque, which is required so that the actual engine speed follows the calculated model engine speed. A difference between the engine speed detected and the calculated model engine speed is calculated in order to correct the model engine output torque. The corrected model engine output torque is used, together with the calculated model engine speed, in order to calculate the rate of air flow through the secondary air passage.
