PURPOSE:To suppress the deterioration of the quality of picture data by applying weight mean to numeral data of all original picture elements corresponding to picture elements after conversion so as to smooth a change in data between the picture elements. CONSTITUTION:A ROM 44a provided in a coefficient selection latch 44 stores weight coefficients corresponding to magnification and counts of clock pulses as a table. A prescribed magnification is given to a latch 44 externally and a clock pulse synchronous with a read clock of a picture signal is given to a data timing unit 45. A picture element signal of picture data is given to a latch 41, a difference arithmetic operation latch 43 and a multiplication latch 42. Upon the receipt of picture data Dn, the latch 42 reads a product between a weight coefficient Kn and the signal Dn inputted from the latch 44 from a ROM 42a. The latch 43 calculates a value of Dn-Dn.Kn and latches the result. The latch 41 latches data Dn-1. The values of the latches 41-43 are added by an adder 46, the sum is divided by a magnification and data whose line density is converted are outputted. |
