PURPOSE:To perform a numbering operation of a wide range of application by showing the number updated by an updating means at the cursor position designed by a position designating means by the instruction of an instructing means. CONSTITUTION:A numbering operation is performed when a microprocessor CPU identifies a fact that a number set key (a key NS) included in a function key group of a keyboard KB is pushed. That is, a number is given to the present cursor position when the key NS is pushed. The value stored in a number register NR is converted into a code of the corresponding numeric character. This numeric character code is set at the cursor position and the number is displayed. Then the value stored in an increased value register AR is added to the contents of the register NR so that the next value is set with push of the key NS. Thus it is possible not only to give a number to a desired position designated by a cursor but to set the changed variable produced by a numbering operation at a desired level. |
