<p>PURPOSE:To enable the crown control of a steel sheet at a high degree by providing an initial crown of an S shape pointsymmetrical in the axial direction only to the back up rolls, moving the rolls in the axial direction and making the combination use of the axial movement and roll bending of work rolls according to the width of the sheet at the same instant. CONSTITUTION:The initial crown is formed in the S shape point symmetrical with the axial direction to the back up rolls 3, 3' provided above and below a pair of the upper and lower work rolls 2, 2' each having a straight contour at the time of rolling the steel sheet 1 by holding the same in place between the rolls 2 and 2'. A pair of the rolls 2, 2', therefore, roll the steel sheet 1 in a manner as to profile the rolls 3, 3'. A pair of the rolls 2, 2' in this stage are axially moved according to the width of the steel sheet 1 and are subjected to the roll bending relative to the axial movement. The back up rolls 3, 3' are axially moved independently from the axial movement, like events independent from each other, and roll bending of the rolls 2, 2'.</p> |
