THE IMPROVED INTRA-UTERINE DEVICE The object of the invention is an improved intrauterine device. This device is a deformable element in the form of a plastic fibre releasing an active substance into the uterine cavity, the said fibre consisting of several strands or loops placed said by side and held together in one assembly zone of reduced dimensions in relation to the length of the said strands or loops, and of an element for attaching it in the uterine cavity, the said element being in the form of filament carrying a means for hooking to the tissue of the uterus, suitable for insertion with the aid of a needle, and integral with the said fibre. The device provides for release of active substances into a relatively large area relative to the mass of the device.
