PURPOSE: To provide a spring damper having the slight axial directional structural length and having a large twist angle by forming a clutch friction disc of a ring piston and a corresponding friction surface of a converter cover as a cone opening toward the opposite side of a turbine impeller. CONSTITUTION: A clutch friction disc 28 of a ring piston 24 and a corresponding friction surface 30 of a converter cover 20 cooperating with this clutch friction disc are formed as a cone opening toward the opposite side of a turbine impeller 17, and a damper unit 31 having annular damper elements 32 is arranged between an outside range in the radial direction of the turbine impeller 17 and the clutch friction disc 28 formed in a conical shape of the ring piston 24 to thereby expand a triangular space between a peripheral range of the turbine impeller 17 and the clutch friction disc 28 of the ring piston 24, in its turn, to improve the incorporation possibility of the damper unit 31.
