PURPOSE:To easily produce the subject compound useful as a synthetic intermediate for ester-type epoxy resin by reacting a silyl ester with a glycidyl ether-type epoxide. CONSTITUTION:The ester compound of formula II having silyloxy group and alkyl or aryloxy group is produced by the addition reaction of (A) a silyl ester of the formula R1COOSiR23 (R1 is aryl or alkyl; R2 is alkyl or aryl) with (B) an epoxy compound of formula I (R is aryl or alkyl) in the presence of a fluoride salt catalyst (e.g. tetraalkylammonium fluoride). To obtain the ester compound of formula II in high yield, it is preferable to heat a mixture of 1-2 mol of the component A and 1 mol of the component B in the presence of 2-5 mol% of a crown ether (e.g. 12-crown-4-ether) at 80-150 deg.C. |
