PURPOSE:To provide a method for easily producing ceramic powder virtually free from agglomeration and composed of spherical particles with moderate size, and producing a sintered compact therefrom. CONSTITUTION:The objective ceramic powder can be obtained by mixing together boehmite sol, silica sol and aqueous solution of magnesium salt so as to be 97.2-99.99wt.% in the content of alumina plus silica, 0.01-2.8wt.% in magnesia and (50:50) to (75:25) in the weight ratio of alumina/silica, and the resultant mixed liquid is sprayed and baked in an oxidative combustion vapor atmosphere. |
