PURPOSE: To provide a method for capsulating optical fibers capable of protecting these optical fibers and, if necessary, capable of operating the exposed ends of the optical fibers. CONSTITUTION: This method for capsulating the optical fibers consists of processes of adhering the optical fibers 13 to the upper surface of a flat planar flexible plastic substrate 12, covering the optical fibers with a first sheet 20 made of a thermoplastic material in order to form a synthetic structure including the first sheet, the optical fibers and the plastic substrate, compressing the synthetic structure at and under a first temp. and first pressure so as to adhere the first sheet 20 to the plastic substrate 12, lowering the temp. of the synthetic structure while maintaining the first pressure and applying a second temp. on the first sheet 20 while compressing the synthetic structure with a second pressure. The second temp. is higher than the first temp. and the second pressure is lower than the first pressure. |
