The invention relates to a noise reduction method, in particular for speech recognition, and to a filter designed to implement the method, wherein the estimate of the spectral envelope of the speech signal amplitude in a predetermined time interval is calculated according to the formula : E{A¦X,O;H1} * p(H1¦X,O) + E{A¦X,O;H0} * p(H0¦X,O), where X is the spectral envelope of the amplitude of the noise-corrupted signal in said time interval, 0 is the spectral envelope of the noise power in said interval, H0 denotes the statistical event corresponding to the fact that said time interval is non-speech, and H1 denotes the statistical event corresponding to the fact that said time interval is a speech interval. |
