PURPOSE:To provide a shaft seal device of elastic material having such a simple structure as ensuring long service life and small load torque. CONSTITUTION:The internal side 4a of a bracket 4 is fitted with a shaft seal device 11 made of elastic material. The device 11 is shaped with such freedom as to provide a J-shaped lip 13b inside an annular disc section 12, and mounted on a shaft 1 in such state as inverted in an opposite axial direction, similar to the J-lip 13a. Also, a cylindrical section 14 is formed as integral part of the external surface of the disc section 12. Practically, a metal mandrel not shown herein may be buried in the cylindrical section 14. Also, the section 14 may be directed toward the J-lip 13b having a free shape, or integrally formed to have a T-shaped profile. Also, the cylindrical section 14 may be removed from the device 11 and an annular disc member may be instead screwed to the edge of the bracket 4. |
