OVERCOAT FILM FOR OPTICAL DISK, OPTICAL DISK AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To exchange the protective film of an optical disk for an overcoat film having low frictional force and high durability when the protective film is damaged and to inhibit the damage of a magnetic head and the recording film of the optical disk. CONSTITUTION:This optical disk has a substrate 1, a recording film 2 and an overcoat film 8. The recording film 2 consists of a dielectric interference layer 3 formed by DC sputtering on the substrate 1 after etching, a magneto- optical recording layer 4, a 1st dielectric protective layer 5, a reflecting layer 6 and a 2nd dielectric layer 7 for protecting the reflecting layer 6. The overcoat film 8 consists of an adhesive layer 9 capable of adhering to the recording film 2 and peeling off the film 2, a resin layer 10 and a 3rd dielectric layer 11 for reducing frictional resistance. The thickness of the overcoat film 8 is, e.g. about 3-10mum.
