PURPOSE:To enhance the utility and convenience of an electronic mail system by using a user's name and telephone number as an electronic mail address. CONSTITUTION:An address transmission means 16 of a sender electronic mail terminal equipment 10 sends a user's name and telephone number to a called electronic mail terminal equipment 12 as an address of an electronic mail. Servers 6, 8 use extract means 6a, 8a to extract the telephone number from the electronic mail address and register names of networks 2, 4 and a host name to address conversion tables 6b, 8b. Then address index means 6c, 8c distribute the mail to a called terminal equipment depending on the network name, host name and user's name indexed by the telephone number from the tables 6a, 8a by using a distribution means 8d. Thus, ease of learning by heart of the telephone number is utilized to reduce unarrival of the mail due to a wrong electronic mail address and increase in traffic is suppressed to enhance the utility of the electronic mail system and the convenience of use by using telephone numbers is improved thereby enhancing the convenience. |
