PURPOSE:To prevent a pixel electrode from being damaged when an unnecessary substrate part is cut by forming swell parts at parts where a pixel electrode as an electric conductor electrode led out of a seal material outside the image display area of the liquid crystal display panel, is not present. CONSTITUTION:At corresponding positions on the same substrate or opposite substrak at the parts where a pixel electrode group as electric conductor electrodes formed outside the seal material 9, is not present, the swell layers 20a-20f are formed. Consequently, even if a cutting shock is applied, spacers 10 present at the formation positions of the swell layers 20a-20f receive the shock preferentially. Then, the spacers 10 intrude into the top surfaces of the well layers 20e and 20f, but the swell layers 20a-20f serve as a support against the sinking of the substrate 7 and the spacers 10 mounted on a pixel electrode 5 never damage the pixel electrode 5. The swell layers 20a-20f are formed at positions which do not relate to image display driving and no influence is exerted on the image quality even when the parts are damaged. |
