PURPOSE:To obtain the image of high quality by satisfactorily forming an image signal even under various conditions such as in the case when movement exists and the case when a color temperature changes. CONSTITUTION:A movement detection circuit 24 detecting the moving state of a subject, a color temperature setting circuit 28 setting the color temperature and a white balance adjustment circuit 25 are provided. A function selection switch 30 selectively changes over the circuits and the charge accumulation time of CCD 14 is driven/controlled based on the selected circuit. Thus, electronic shutter control corresponding to respective functions is satisfactorily executed. Furthermore, a video amplitude detection circuit is added and an electronic shutter operation is executed by making it correspond to an exchanged electronic endoscope.
