PURPOSE: To improve the failure allowable force of a document management system by dividing data and storing the data in plural storage devices when the data amounts can not be stored in a storage device which is being used at present. CONSTITUTION: When a selected storage device in a block 60 is not provided with any places enough to store all transmitted data, this situation is communicated to a file system in a block 58. Also, the file system informs that there is not enough file spaces of a block 56. Then, the block 56 uses a disk space usage chart for finding another storage device which can store the residual data. This is operated without any intervene of a programmer or an operator, and when data total amounts are large and they can not be housed in the storage device, the data are divided anytime, and transmitted to another storage device connected with the same data processor. Thus, the failure allowable force of this document management system can be improved. |
