PURPOSE:To provide a title detector which can detect road face friction coefficients relatively easily by detecting road face friction coefficients on the basis of resonance levels of a tyre with views kept on a variation in resonance levels of a tyre based on a variation in lengths of a side slip area to the road face in a ground part of a tyre which is rotating in a zero-free state of the side slip angle. CONSTITUTION:The oscillation accelerations G of right, left, front wheels that are steering wheels with toe angles are detected by an acceleration sensor, and power spectrum density PSD of the acceleration G is detected on the basis of the results, so that a road face friction coefficient is detected on the basis of that of the PSD values which is within a frequency range where a PSD value varies in one direction while a road face friction coefficient varies in one direction. Since the front wheel tyres always develop side displacements in the presence of tow angles, it is possible to always detect road face friction coefficients. |
