PURPOSE:To provide such a color filter that the space between transparent electrodes in a liquid crystal display device can be stably maintained and no deterioration is caused in the sealing part during assembling the liquid crystal display device and with the lapse of time after assembling. CONSTITUTION:This color filter consists of a transparent substrate 1, transparent coloring layer 3, transparent electrode 5, and adhesive resin layer 4. The transparent coloring layer 3 is formed, pattern-like on the display part in almost the center area of the transparent substate 1 and light transmitting this layer is colored by each picture element. The transparent electrode 5 is formed in a wiring pattern which directly and wholly covers the surface including the transparent coloring layer 3. The adhesive resin layer 4 is selectively formed on the sealing area of the edge area of the transparent substrate 1 to adhere the transparent substrate 1 and the transparent electrode part. Since no overcoating layer is formed on the transparent coloring layer 3, no projection due to an overcoating layer is produced, so that the space between transparent electrodes can be stably maintained. Moreover, by firmly adhering the transparent substrate and the transparent electrode in the sealing area, the sealing area is made stable during assembling the device and for a long time after assembling. |
