Tyre comprising a carcass reinforcement moulded in toric shape and composed of n circumferentially successive plies (11) of wires or cables (110) at 0 DEG having overlap lengths (1) covered over at least radially by plies (12) of radial wires or cables (120). Under the effect of the inflation pressure, the carcass reinforcement deforms so as to give the tread strip (2) and the side walls (5) of the said tyre undulating profiles with polygonal configuration of the tread strip. Use of such tyres for equipping vehicles which are intended to drive over unstable ground or ground covered with snow. <IMAGE>
