PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus and a method for draining condensed water in which dew proofing construction and a piping construction regarding drainage of condensed water at the time of cooling by a heat pump type air conditioner can be rationalized. CONSTITUTION:A water storage recess is formed for storing condensed water at part of a traylike train pan 11 of an indoor unit 10 of a heat pump type air conditioner, and a drain pump 30 having a liquid level relay is provided in the recess. When a storage water amount reaches a predetermined quantity, the pump 30 is operated by the relay to drain the condensed water via a drain tube 40 and a drain vertical tube 41. A refrigerant tube 20 and the tube 40 are formed partly at the same route, covered with a refrigerant heat insulator in this zone to perform a dew proofing construction also as a refrigerant heat insulation construction. |
