PURPOSE:To improve automatic cooking performance by providing a hygrometer having reliability even in the environment exposed to steam or a particle generated from heated food in a cooking appliance such as a microwave oven. CONSTITUTION:Contrast air and air to be measured are separated by a partition wall 19, and ultrasonic wave pronouncing elements 15-a and 15-b and ultrasonic wave receiving elements 17-a and 17-b are arranged opposite to each other on both sides of this partition wall, and a phase difference in receiving waves between both is detected by using a phenomenon that sound propagating speed in the air is influenced by humidity, and the humidity is measured. In this constitution, since the humidity can be measured accurately without being influenced by the bad environment of food preparation, automatic cooking performance can be improved. |
