PURPOSE:To attain ultrahigh density recording at a smaller pitch than the wavelength of light by generating at least one kind of bubble transferable to the direction of a recording track without irradiation with energy beams, e.g. an air bubble, a liq. bubble or a magnetic bubble. CONSTITUTION:When laser light 1 is intensified at a '1' part of a digital signal in the user data recording region of a sector to be recorded, decomposed gas is generated from impurities in paraffin by the generation of heat in an Sb-Bi layer and a large air bubble 2 is generated. After the light spot passes, the air bubble 2 shrinks because of its reduced temp. and is preserved as an air bubble 3 of uniform size. Since recorded information is scaled down and preserved in accordance with the progress of recording, a very large quantity of information can be recorded. |
