PATH LABEL TRANSFER METHOD

PURPOSE:To transfer a path label without interrupting the communications service and cell missing and crosstalk with respect to the path label transfer method in the asynchronous transfer mode circuit using a virtual path. CONSTITUTION:Virtual path conversion tables T2, T1 at a receiver side and a transmitter side are rewritten separately twice. While virtual path conversion of a cell CO2 on a transmission line remains unchanged, the virtual path conversion table at the receiver side is rewritten so as to be correspondent to a virtual path identifier VPI after transfer. Then the transmitter side virtual path identifier conversion table is rewritten so that an object cell is to be converted to have a virtual path identifier after transfer.
