SIGNAL TRANSMISSION METHOD, ENCODER, SIGNAL TRANSMITTER, DECODER AND SIGNAL RECEIVER

PURPOSE:To attain error correction with excellent efficiency against an error caused in a communication data signal during signal transmission. CONSTITUTION:Independent data inputted serially are given to a Reed-Solomon encode section 3 in which Reed-Solomon code is added to the data via a buffer 1 and a serial/parallel conversion section 2 and the result is converted into serial data in a parallel/serial conversion section 4, subjected to coding processing and multiplexing processing with voice data in a signal coding section 5 and the result is sent to a satellite communications transmission line 7 via a signal transmission section 6. The transmission signal is given to a signal decoding section 9 via a signal reception section 8, in which the signal is subjected to decoding and demultiplexing and the independent data in the signal are subjected to decoding in a Reed-Solomon decode section 11 via a serial/ parallel conversion section 10 to provide an output via a parallel/serial conversion section 12 and a buffer 13.
