The invention relates to high-temperature well cementation. The retarder consists of a phosphonic acid derivative combined with borax in a weight ratio of 0.025 to 0.2 for the ratio of the phosphonic derivative to borax. A very long pumping time is obtained, combined with a very fast development of crushing strength after the placing.
