PURPOSE:To enable a speed change to be realized quickly as designated in its target by providing such a map as having the speed change started in an early stage so as to start the speed change in an early stage besides a speed change map serving as a desired reference when the speed change is started from the maximum speed change ratio and the minimum speed change ratio. CONSTITUTION:A speed change is controlled based on a map A (continuous line) which is speed change line serving as a reference when the target is neither the maxinum speed change ratio nor the minimum speed change ratio. On the other hand, the speed change control is performed based on a map B (dotted line) when the speed change is performed from the maximum speed change ratio. The map B is so set that the engine rotational speed becomes lower than that in a map A serving as a reference. Therefore the change of the engine rotational speed is started from a stage earlier than the that of the reference map A. The speed change control is performed based on a map c(one point chain line) when the speed is changed from the minimum speed change ratio. The speed change control is continued until the acceleration of the engine rotation becomes negative. Thereafter, recovery to the map A is carried out.
