The bicycle is provided with a support 11, 12 which projects upwards in the area of the rear side of the saddle 10. Compared to conventional bicycles, the bicycle according to the invention is more comfortable to sit on, makes it possible to exert greater forces on the pedals and makes cycling less tiring, since the body is supported in the vicinity of the legs. Furthermore, the air resistance of the bicycle and cyclist is lower than in the case of a conventional bicycle with a cyclist in his/her normal position.
