This fluid soft soldering flux based on organic carboxylic acid is especially suitable for use in the production of electronic and electrical components. A particular characteristic of this fluid flux is that owing to its reduced solids content (e.g. 6%) it is suitable for SMT manufacturing and in circuit testers. The special suitability is achieved by the addition of alkyl fluorinated alcohols of the Rf-CH2-CH2-OH type, alicyclic and aromatic mono, di or polycarbon acids with at least one carbon ring or derivatives thereof using aliphatic mono, di, poly, keto or hydroxy carboxylic acids and quarternary ammonium salts.
