Coupling element for the releasable connection of natural teeth to artificial teeth

The invention describes a coupling to be fastened on an artificial crown for connection to artificial denture parts. In a preferred embodiment, it comprises a male part (a), a female part (b) and a cylindrical pin (c) which projects into the male part and is screw-connected to the female part; however, it may also be fitted with two pins. This pin has one or more steps by which the pin diameter increases toward the free end of the pin; it is received by a bore in the male part which resembles it in that it also has one or more stepped diameters. In order to overcome the different steps the pin is provided crosswise with two recesses in the longitudinal axis. This permits particularly efficient holding together of the coupling elements by virtue of retentive and frictional forces. Further facilities complement this coupling and make it superior to others. They relate, in particular, to installation in the denture part and to connection to the surrounding plastic. <IMAGE>
