Composition for treating wastewater (effluent) comprising: 30-40% by weight natrolite 20-30% by weight montmorillonite 20-30% by weight calcium hydroxide 1.5-3.5% by weight aluminium sulphate 10.0-15.0% by weight catalyst components The composition is effective in treating wastewater which contains various heavy metals, in particular Cu, Ni, Zn, Fe, Pb, Cr<6+>, and cyanide and in odour diminution and COD reduction.
